Exide Technologies Key Account Manager, Motive Power in Kontich, Belgium


For our division Motive Power, Exide is looking for an experienced Key Account Manager near Antwerp (Belgium). Within this role you will have a broad commercial responsibility for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s, this implies huge forklift truck producers) and End Users on national scale. It is important that the right candidate can make fast political strategic decisions, is capable to build important relations and score challenging assignments within the market segment. You are able to identify prospects, make sales plans and expand our market share. Besides searching for new customers and expanding the market share you will also maintain the existing contacts and built long-term relationships.

Within this role it is important to analyze the needs of the customers, so that you can participate in the conversation by adding an energy solution to the customer. We also do this by total cost of ownership calculations.

For the offer process you will have the assistance of a sales support team. But it is essential that you have some technical knowledge to participate in this process.


  • The colleague that we are looking for has a Bachelor level

  • 5 to 10 years of (successful) commercial experience in B2B sales of industrial / technical products;

  • Affinity with (electrical) technical products;

  • A commercially driven hunter with a winner's mentality

  • Can book results and actively seeks and recruit new customers;

  • Capable to independently identify customers leads;

  • Can see new opportunities, draw up and coordinate action plans;

  • Can give commercial presentations to clients and participate in commercial discussions;

  • Masters the Dutch and English language in word and in writing;

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office;

  • Used to work with KPIs;

  • Strong analytical insight and market knowledge;

  • Living in / around Antwerp / Kontich or nearby area.

The employment

The employment contract will start with a fulltime employment contract for an indefinite period under PC200, with 20 holidays and 12 RTT days. We also provide a daily allowance, an end-of-year bonus of one month's wages and participation in the bonus system with the possibility of an annual bonus of 12.5% of the gross annual salary. To make sure you have everything to make a success out of this role we will provide a company car, smartphone and laptop.
